Recruitment Information

Formula SAE goes beyond a typical student organization, it functions as a hands-on engineering program built around competition. Every member contributes to the design, manufacturing, testing, and business operations required to build a nationally competitive race car.

Our recruitment process reflects that standard. You’ll work hands-on in the lab, collaborate with team members, and learn the systems that make the car perform. If you’re ready to rise to the standard, this is where it starts.

Recruitment Process

We offer extensive opportunities for hands-on experience across multiple disciplines. Explore our Subteams page to learn more about each group and see where you can get involved!

Earn your spot

Meet the 8-hour requirement and show consistent commitment throughout recruiting, and you will be offered an interview. The interview is your opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the team, subteams, and core vehicle concepts.

Design - Analyze - Present

Design, Analyze, Present (DAP), is a 6-week project each recruit takes on during their time recruiting with VT Motorsports. This project is intended to help recruits understand the full design process for each part of our car.
